Kate Iroegbu, the Nigerian born Irish national based in London is a Talk Show host, Motivational Speaker, and a Microbiologist. Born on the 31st of December 1972 into the family of Aki of Uruovie, Abraka, Delta State by late Bob C. Robert Aki Amogbokpa who was an Assistant Superintended of Police, popularly known as Charlie Murphy, and her beautiful mum Chief Christiana Adam Obagbinoko who is from Oviore, Ovu, Delta State and her maternal home is Abraka. Her mum is a retired business woman.
Kate attended Abraka Grammar School Abraka, Delta state, Nigeria from 1984 - 1990. In 1991/92 she attended Edo State University for a year to study physics, and then transferred to Delta State University, Abraka where she obtained a B.SC honours degree in Microbiology. During her undergraduate studies she was the Treasurer of Microbiology Association Delsu. After graduation she obtained a Diploma Certificate in IT, from Afro Euro Consult, Ikeja, Lagos, and attended a Modelling course with Modella, at Obanikoro, Lagos both in Nigeria. She did some modelling jobs including calendar and TV advert for La-Campagne Tropicana 1.
During the 1999 Prince Albert Esiri Polo Turf Club Tournament at Oria Abraka, she recruited 10 people and supervised them to ensure excellent customer service provision to all invited guests. In the same year she was called up for her National Youth Service Corps development and served as a Public Relations Officer with West African Portland Cement, Alausa Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria. Additionally, She studied Business Administration and Marketing at the Lagos State University, Lagos, Nigeria from 2003 to 2005.
She got married in 2002 to Mr Chidi Iroegbu who originated from Imo State, Nigeria, and there are blessed with four children.
When she moved to Ireland, she studied at the University College Dublin, where she obtained a second B.SC honours degree in Microbiology.
She worked as a Cabin Crew with Bellview Airlines (2000 - 2001), and Virgin Atlantic Airways for 5years from 2001 and attained the position of a Senior Cabin Crew. She relocated to Dublin, Ireland shortly after. Since Kate is a person who is passionate in acquiring knowledge, in August 2008 while nursing her twin daughters she undertook an IT course at the VEC centre, Clifden, Co. Galway in order to improve on her IT skills. She briefly worked with HCL Technologies in Dublin. In 2014 she relocated to London, where she undertook a comprehensive training on TV Presenting with Aspire, as she was working on her God given vision of starting her own TV talk show. She is of the opinion that whatever skills or trade you are
engaged in, offering excellent customer service is key. Hence she attended a Customer Service Course in March 2015 at New Cross Gate Community Trust, London. And as a parent, in order to have an up to date first Aid drills, in May she attended a First Aid Course at Willowdene School, London, certified by Green Gragon Education and Training LLP.
Kate is a very passionate, caring, friendly, determined and God fearing individual. She has touched many lives through mentoring, caring, supporting, and advising on different issues and challenges, these issues include marital and other life challenges. She is a Christian, and believes in practical Christianity i.e. letting our lives reflect Christ by showing love, kindness, care and compassion to humanity, irrespective of race, creed and sexual orientation. These she strongly believe in, and by the special grace of God she has been practicing this by reaching out to people near and far. She has been able to accomplish this by sharing words of encouragement, giving whatever she can to ameliorate their situation be it financial, material or making myself available in times of need.
Kate has been through many challenges in life, where those who she expected to stand by her had denied her and aggravated issues; however in the midst of all these challenges, God has also placed a few people who genuinely love her and care for her and supported her through thick and thin. This list will not be exhaustive without mentioning her long-time friend, sister, well-wisher, encourager and her friend Mrs Sally Easterbrook. Sally is a Counselling Consultant, a Director with Therapy Today West Africa Limited, and the Co-founder/CEO of Easterbrook Foundation, an NGO established to provide succour to the less privileged members of the society, persons affected by HIV and education to orphans and vulnerable children.
According to Kelly Clarkson's music "What Doesn't kill you makes you stronger" and finally she held on to the bible verse in Romans 8 verse 28 "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose".
By The Special Grace of God she has been through fire but not consumed, this has made her to become more determined and an inspiration to others.
